Search engine Snap.com is offering Sure it's a plug for the company's search engine, and you could probably customize your PC's power settings yourself (through the Control Panel) to achieve the same result. But the CO2 meter is a feel-good reminder that every little bit helps, and keeps the idea of cutting CO2 emissions in mind.

Several organizations have created custom versions of the toolbar if you prefer someone else's logo on your desktop.
