PA's Rendell Pushes Renewables

Western Pennsylvania maybe be coal country, but that hasn't stopped Governor Ed Rendell from pushing his state towards wind, solar and clean fuel alternatives. Rendell isn't resting on his laurels of being awarded the state that purchased the most clean energy in the country in 2006 (ya here that, Arnie?).

Rendell is pushing a package of four bills that will require the state to expand use of renewable energy and will offer tax incentives to encourage ethanol and biodiesel refiners to open up shop in the Keystone State. The bills have widespread (67 percent) support amongst citizens in the state.

Kudos to Governor Rendell (watch for him as a presidential candidate in 2012) for promoting business growth hand in hand with sustainable energy policies.
