Fields of Fuel at Sundance

When you finally land the coveted invitation to premiere your film at the Sundance Film Festival, you hope Murphy’s Law doesn’t derail the opportunity of your dreams. That’s especially true if your film carries a social or environmental advocacy message.

As seen in the above video, Greg Reitman, the producer behind Josh Tickell’s new biodiesel documentary “Fields of Fuel” has just fallen victim to a nasty flu bug upon his arrival at Sundance. As producer, Greg is responsible for logistics and business affairs.

Greg knows that the Sundance invitation alone is insufficient to propel their message into wider public distribution. Filmmakers must first expend all the energy they can muster to get their project noticed above the frenzied public relations campaigns of competing films. Ultimately they must win the enthusiasm of Sundance audiences, the press and the movie industry distribution machine before more doors begin to open.

Over the coming week, Matter Network will follow Greg and Josh as they strive for a unique stepping stone opportunity to reach America’s mass consciousness. We wish them much success.
