Perf Go Green Bags Hit Stores
Perf Go Green Holdings, the maker of biodegradable outdoor and kitchen garbage bags, says it has cut a deal with a major home-improvement co-op chain to sell its 13-, 30- and 39-gallon bags.
Do it Best Corp operates over 4,000 hardware and home-improvement stores nationwide, and will sell Perf’s 13-gallon kitchen bags, 30-gallon lawn bags and 39-gallon garage bags. Perf Go Green's CEO, Tony Tracy, said the deal will let Do it Best customers “do their part to reduce plastic waste while enjoying the design and performance advantages of [Perf] bags.… The partnership will also help further the ‘go green' movement.”
Perf bags are made using recycled plastic, which reduces landfill waste. The plastic is treated with an oxygen-based biodegradable application that creates a film for each bag. When the film is exposed to soil conditions, like those found in a landfill, microorganisms break down the bags. Moisture, oxygen and other gases assist in degrading the plastic, leaving nothing more than particles.
