What Would You Ask Bush About Energy?
I was thinking about what question I would ask if he a) allows questions after his speech and b) deigns to call on me.
Some options include:
Why has he threatened to veto the current House bill that removes subsidies to the oil and gas industry and transfers them to wind, solar and other renewables?
Would he support a ten-year diminishing production tax credit for renewable electricity, similar to the laws that have been effective in growing renewables in Spain and Germany?
If energy independence and addressing climate change are goals of your administration, why is energy efficiency and renewable energy funding being cut 24 percent while fossil energy funding is being increased by 27 percent in the 2009 Department of Energy Budget?
If you have a better question than any of these, please pass it along. If we get consensus, I'll be happy to ask this one question if I get the opportunity.
