MMA Plans Oregon Wind Farm

MMA Renewable Ventures is expanding their holdings of clean energy facilities to include a new wind farm in Oregon. MMA will construct, finance and operate the farm with partners and landowners Ormand and Jeff Hilderbrand.

The planned facility is MMA Renewable Ventures’ first wind project, although they already have more than 35 clean energy facilities of varying types throughout the U.S. MMA’s interest in wind energy seems to be on the rise, however: it is ideal for rural areas and provides opportunities for community ownership. At this time, MMA is offering development capital, total financing and project management to small- and mid-scale wind farms. Currently, MMA holds approximately $400 million in solar projects and $900 million in wind and bioenergy projects.

MMA Renewable Ventures is a subsidiary of Municipal Mortgage & Equity, LLC (MuniMae), focused on financing and operating renewable energy assets. Their relationship with MuniMae has helped position MMA to offer green investment opportunities. They have also made a practice of working with landowners and developers, guaranteeing closer ties with the communities that they power.

In a press release, Ormand Hilderbrand discussed the benefits of working with MMA: "More than just a financial  partner, MMA Renewable Ventures provided the expertise we needed to speed this project to successful operation, helping the wind farm deliver benefits to my business, our community and the environment."
