Fisker Finds Manufacturer for Karma
Fisker Automotive, a start-up specializing in plug-in hybrids, has found a manufacturer for its hybrid luxury sedan, the Karma. Valmet Automotive, the Finnish auto manufacturer, has reportedly agreed to take on the job. The Karma will be in good company: Valmet assembles Porsche Caymans and Boxsters.
The Karma will be the first ever 4-door plug-in hybrid. It will have 50 miles of range when running on electric, and a total range of over 350 miles.
Fisker announced that it has issued a letter of intent to Valmet, stating that production will begin by the end of 2008. Sales, in the U.S., will start by the fourth quarter of 2009. In Europe, sales — half of Fisker's overall expected production — are slated to begin in 2010. The start-up expects annual production of the Karma to reach 15,000 cars and are already making future plans for manufacturing.
Henrik Fisker, the company's founder, issued a statement recently: “We do have a strategic plan to utilize an American manufacturing site for future models of the Fisker Karma.”
While Fisker has previously announced plans for other models, including convertible, SUV and two-door plug-in hybrids, they aren't talking about manufacturers yet. Fisker is working with Quantum to develop the drivetrain for the various models of its hybrid plug-ins.

Hello folks,
This is a story that I find hilarious everytime I read:
A man received a parrot for his birthday. This parrot was fully-grown with a bad attitude and worse vocabulary. Every other word was an expletive. Those that weren't expletives were, to say the least, extremely rude.
The man tried hard to change the bird's attitude and was constantly saying polite words, playing soft music, anything that came to mind.
Nothing worked. He yelled at the bird, the bird got worse. He went to a voodoo spell caster to cast a love spell on it, with no luck.
He shook the bird and the bird got more angry and exceedingly rude.
Finally, in a moment of desperation, he put the parrot in the freezer.
For a few moments he heard the bird squawking, kicking and screaming and then, suddenly, all was quiet.
The man was frightened that he might have actually hurt the bird and quickly opened the freezer door. The parrot calmly stepped out onto the man's extended arm and said: "I'm sorry that I offended you with my language and actions. I ask for your forgiveness. I will try to improve my behavior."
The man was astounded at the bird's change in attitude and was about to ask what changed him when the parrot continued, "...May I ask what the chicken did?"
:)
That's more than snseible! That's a great post!
