GET Sells Green Motor Oil

If you look at a break down of motor oil, you can see that it’s pretty nasty stuff. Worse, it takes special equipment to safely dispose of motor oil. Green Earth Technologies is out to change that around.

Green Earth Technologies (GET) is offering a line of green automotive products , including G-Oil Green Motor Oil. With just a little help, G-Oil is biodegradable — consumers just add a little G-Disposoil, and G-Oil turns into soil. G-Oil is fully certified by the American Petroleum Institute (the API is the body of standards governing motor oil) and exceeds the API’s standards for use in engines.

The secret to G-Oil’s ultimate biodegradability is the ingredients used to make it. GET uses tallow — animal fat — to replace the oil in motor oil. G-Oil holds up better in an engine than comparable vegetable oils. It also completely biodegrades in 9 days. The API’s requirements for green motor oils set the minimum time to complete biodegradation at 28 days.

A number of retailers are carrying GET’s products, including Amazon.com and select Targets. GET has a full list of retailers on their site. They also offer a variety of other products from tire shine to anti-fog spray.

EDIT: G-Disposoil isn't on the market quite yet — it will be out before the end of the year, though.
