A New Edition of ecoAsset Manager
IHS, Inc., the makers of ecoAsset Manager, have released a new edition of their software. ecoAsset Manager version 10.1 builds on the software's abilities to manage emission allowances and credits, and addresses new EPA registry changes. The first edition of ecoAsset Manager was released in 1994 and is an enterprise level credit portfolio solution.
A few major updates have been made to ecoAsset Manager to help the program manage allowances and credits from a variety of programs, including the EU Emissions Trading Program, the Australia Greenhouse Challenge Program and the U.S. Acid Rain Program. The software is entirely browser-based, allowing large enterprises to use it to track even complex credit ownership and report successes.
In a press release, Mark Wysong, IHS' vice president of environment, said, "With the rapid evolution of greenhouse gas cap and trade legislation worldwide, we believe that this enhanced version of ecoAsset Manager sets the standard for solutions of this type and demonstrates our commitment to continuing to deliver the best functionality in emissions allowance program management support. Emissions allowances have tremendous value within corporations, and as such, they necessitate proper systems for auditable and verifiable record keeping. With the burgeoning emissions trading programs, we are now seeing a corresponding increase in demand for this type of critical information and insight for carbon emissions and allowances as well." Information about ecoAsset is available through IHS ESP's website.
