A Wind Turbine in Every House
Product designer Philippe Starck has come out of retirement with what may be the most practical product of his career: ‘Democratic Ecology.’ This device is a personalized windmill able to give anybody the power to generate their own designer power.
The mini-turbine will go on sale in September for around 400 Euros (currently a little over $630). That’s a surprisingly good deal, considering the average electric bill. Starck estimates that this little windmill can generate between 20 and 60 percent of a home’s power. That alone could turn this into every personal finance guru’s favorite product.
A personal windmill is a logical progression from the various green and do-it-yourself products that have hit the market lately. Pramac, the company backing Starck’s effort, made an excellent business decision with this move. Beyond the practically guaranteed popularity of a wind generator for home use, offering this product moves Pramac out of its original industry: petrol and diesel generators. While Pramac hasn’t been struggling on the same level as GM and other auto manufacturers, they’ve been on a downward trend with the high price of gasoline. Moving into the renewable energy field is Pramac’s best bet.

How about the safety factors that affect the surroundings ? $600, does it include the electricity part of wind system too ? If so, that would be a good deal !
